Essential eating disorder training for dietitians

ALL Dietitians deserve practical, evidence-based education to confidently support clients living with eating disorders. ED for RDs: Essentials is an eating disorder training program for dietitians that provides the clinical skills, therapeutic communication tools, and emotional understanding that most dietetic programs don’t cover.

This flexible eating disorder online program allows dietitians, like you, to learn at their own pace while gaining real-world strategies and guidance from Shawna Melbourn, RD, dietitian supervisor. This certificate training for dietitians builds confidence, reduces burnout, and strengthens your ability to offer safe, compassionate, and effective care.

  • Everything! The course was very complete, with case studies, how to proceed with eating disorders legally, nutritionally, medically, psychologically, etc. Shawna's approach is inclusive and caring, I appreciate her gentleness and great understanding of eating disorders. Also, the fact that the case studies were recorded was great.

  • I really appreciate the flexibility of being able to work on my own time by accessing the learning modules and also recorded case study and Q&A sessions. I am very appreciative of the knowledge I have gained and skills that I have learned. Shawna is an excellent instructor and the experts that help her with case studies are also very knowledgeable and informative.

    —Kim W.

  • I loved that there was so much information. Shawna was able to give big the picture and then break things down into tiny details. It included research and practical application. Shawna is so invested in her participants and truly cares about their learning and practice. This shined through in the course! I loved the interactive Q and A sessions and case studies. I also loved the repetition of things. I may be hearing the same information but I'm in a different place than I was 3 or 8 months ago and I respond to that information with a different viewpoint. There is always something new to learn.

    —Erika F.

  • I loved this course. My knowledge in EDs had increased so much and I feel competent in being able to care for people living with eating disorders comfortably. I appreciated the format of the main modules, quizzes, and resources as well as the case studies and q&as. Very well structured program. I appreciated being able to rewatch modules as well!

  • This training is complete. Not only do I now have a better understanding for people with eating disorders, but I also feel more competent to intervene.

    - Harmonie G.

  • I learned a lot about eating disorders and how, as a dietitian, to treat people who are suffering from them during this course. I also learned a lot about compassionate and humain care, which is very useful with all my clients, not only the ones with eating disorders. Shawna is very caring and respectful towards the participants. I would definitely recommand the course to other dietitians !
