Essential eating disorder training for dietitians
ALL Dietitians deserve practical, evidence-based education to confidently support clients living with eating disorders. ED for RDs: Essentials is an eating disorder training program for dietitians that provides the clinical skills, therapeutic communication tools, and emotional understanding that most dietetic programs don’t cover.
This flexible eating disorder online program allows dietitians, like you, to learn at their own pace while gaining real-world strategies and guidance from Shawna Melbourn, RD, dietitian supervisor. This certificate training for dietitians builds confidence, reduces burnout, and strengthens your ability to offer safe, compassionate, and effective care.
Why choose ED for RDs: Essentials?
Because dietitians deserve training that’s compassionate, practical, and rooted in real eating disorder care.
I’ve walked your path
With me, you get someone who truly gets it. Every journey is unique, but may challenges are common for dietitians who are learning about eating disorders. Having been through then gives me a perspective that’s grounded in reality.
I know your challenges
Let’s fast-track your growth by leveraging my experiences of my clients and the dietitians I’ve supported. I’ve learned how to support people living with an eating disorder with deep compassion. And now, I want to ensure you don’t have to learn the hard way.
Your success = my joy
There’s a special kind of joy in seeing dietitians reach their potential, in witnessing dreams turn into reality. When you succeed and feel competent in eating disorder care, it’s a shared victory. Your aspirations become mine, and together, we make them happen.
Who is ED for RDs: Essentials for?
You are new to nutrition therapy for eating disorder treatment
You are experiencing more referrals for eating disorders/disordered eating

You are worried about what to say to your client that you suspect may be experiencing an eating disorder

How will ED for RDs: Essentials help you?
Hands-On Help
In this program, you have access to monthly Q&A sessions where we will strategize, brainstorm, and work alongside you as you implement practical tools into your nutrition sessions. Advice is great, but sometimes you need someone to roll up their sleeves and get into the thick of things with you.
Person and Evidenced-based Approach
You will receive the support that I wish someone handed me when I was just starting out. Over the years, I’ve collected golden nuggets of wisdom, Some came from mentors, others from personal experience, the hundreds of clients that I’ve worked with, and of course, the research that has shaped our approaches to eating disorder support and care.
Compassionate Strategies
Why learn the hard way when you can benefit from my over 20 years of experience? Stumbling blocks? I’ve encountered many. But I’ve also found ways around them. I will show you how to remain compassionate while applying strategies that can help you avoid common pitfalls.
